About eScooterWise

What this is

escooterwise is a structured database of electric scooters sold in the United States. It exists because buying a scooter currently means reading a dozen review blogs that mostly repeat each other, quote manufacturer range claims as if they were measurements, and disagree on basic specifications for the same model.

We take a different approach. Every specification is transcribed from the manufacturer's own published product page and linked back to it. Every score is computed from those specifications by a published formula. Every range claim is displayed next to a computed real-world estimate so the two can never be confused.

What we do not do

We do not physically test scooters, and we never write as though we have. There are no ride impressions on this site, no hands-on verdicts and no star ratings dressed up as test results. If you want to know how a scooter feels over broken pavement, we are not the right source and we would rather say so than invent it.

We also do not fill gaps. When a manufacturer declines to publish an IP rating or a US-market top speed, that field shows an em dash. A missing number is information — it usually means the manufacturer did not test for it.

How it is funded
