What we collect

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect names, email addresses or payment details. Comparison selections you make are stored in your own browser's local storage and never sent to us.

Analytics we run ourselves

Our analytics are first-party and self-hosted. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics script. When you load a page, our own endpoint records the path you viewed, the referring site, your country, and your device and browser type — and nothing else.

We never store your IP address. Your IP is used momentarily to derive a one-way hash that also mixes in the date and a secret key, and is then discarded. That hash lets us count how many separate visits happened in a day; because the date is part of it, the value changes every midnight and cannot be used to recognise you tomorrow or to work back to your IP. We set no analytics cookies.

If you use one of our calculators or the legality checker, we record the selection you made — for example which scooter model or which state — together with the result. We do not record anything that identifies you.

Advertising

We do not serve advertising. There are no ad networks, no ad scripts and no advertising cookies on this site. The affiliate links described below are how the site is funded.

Affiliate links

Links to retailers such as Amazon carry a tracking parameter that tells the retailer the visit came from us. If you buy, the retailer tells us a sale occurred. We do not receive your identity, your address or your payment information.
