How this calculator works

Every estimate starts from the manufacturer's published claimed range and the same correction the rest of this site uses: real-world range lands at roughly 55–70% of the claim, because makers test with a light rider at a low steady speed on flat ground in mild weather with no wind. From that band, the calculator applies five adjustment factors, each of which is shown in the result and documented here so nothing is hidden.

The five factors

Why it is always a band, never a single number

Range depends on too many uncontrolled variables — wind, stop-start frequency, tyre choice, how hard you accelerate — to justify false precision. The output is a band between a conservative and an optimistic real-world figure for your inputs, and you should plan around the lower end. If your daily round trip does not fit comfortably inside the bottom of the band, choose a scooter with a bigger battery rather than hoping for the best.

The one factor this cannot see: age

The calculator assumes a healthy battery. Lithium packs lose roughly 20–30% of their usable capacity after about 500 full charge cycles — two to three years of regular commuting — so a used or older scooter will fall short of any estimate here. Gentle charging habits, keeping the pack between about 20% and 80% and avoiding heat, are what slow that decline. When you buy used, assume the real range is meaningfully below what a new example of the same model would show.

This is not a measured test result and we never present it as one. We do not ride scooters to exhaustion and log the miles; we take the manufacturer's own published claim and apply a transparent, documented correction.
